Introduction to DogRacer

1-1 What is DogRacer.com ?

One of a kind, DogRacer.com, transports you into the exciting world of dog racing. It is both a strategy game, a simulation game, a management game and gambling (for residents of the UK and Ireland only as they are the only residents to be allowed for now to withdraw funds from their account DogRacer). The game consist in managing a kennel of virtual whippets and greyhounds and race them against players from all over the world. Every dog has unique genetic potential which directly influence its performance on the track.

1-2 s it possible to win money with Dogracer?

DogRacer.com is a competition for prizemoney only for users living in one of these countries. For all of our other clients, Dogracer is a paying game whose sole purpose is leisure and entertainment (no possibility to convert DOGZ into real money and withdraw funds).

	Greyhounds

2-1 How do I become a dog owner in DogRacer.com ?

To own greyhounds, 3 purchase options are available to you: 1) Create a new Greyhound (you will be considered as the Breeder). 2) Auction Room. 3) Claiming races. To claim a dog after a claiming race, you must be present when the claiming auction starts. A encard will then appear on all pages of the site, you can not miss it. If you do not see it right now, this implies that no claiming races have arrived within the latest 10 minutes (these claiming sales by secret ballot only last 10 minutes, the highest bidder winning). 2-2 How to purchase a new Whippet dog ?

On each month's start, every kennels receive five virtual Whippet for free. It is not possible to acquire more. It is not possible to sell Whippet dogs to other players.

2-3 How long does a virtual greyhound's career last?

Dogracer is a monthly game: the career of virtual dogs, regardless of breed (Whippet or Greyhound), lasts a calendar month. Kennel dogs disappear each first day of the month to make way for a new generation and a new competition, and so on.

	Races

3-1 Which are the various racing distances ?

There are 4 different racing distances: 256 metres ("sprint") 460 metres ("standard") 660 metres ("stayers") 872 metres ("marathon") Greyhound breeders attempt to breed (create) dogs that excel at a particular distance.

3-2 Is there a charge for taking part in races ?

While Whippet races are 100% free (without any possible winnings), all Greyhound races are based on entry fees: a 95% share of the amount paid in registration fees is paid out to the owners of the first three dogs to finish. Certain races benefit from an extra jackpot : the total winnings paid out from the race is higher than the total sum of the 6 entry fees. These races are called “Golden Races”. These prestigious races are obviously the most popular with the owners, as a win or second place allows for more profitable breeding. Of course the entry criteria for these races is also higher. It is worth noting that the Golden Races are the only races where bet taking is available (see “Pari-mutuel betting”).

3-3 How to nominate a greyhound to a race ?

There are two ways to register for a race: 1) From the « KENNEL » section > page « MY GREYHOUNDS". Click on the pictogram « + » in the last column entitled « Next race ». This will then open a new window showing all races your dog qualifies for. 2) From the « RACES » section > page « RACE PROGRAM ». When you click on the pictogram “+” in the last column entitled “Nominate”, a new window opens with a list of your racing dogs eligible for this race.

	Race results calculation

4-1 Which factors influence the greyhound’s performance during the race ?

Are taken into account in determining the course of a race the following parameters: 1) Speed Every dog is born with a basic minimum speed (every dog has its own) and a potential maximum speed, which can only be reached through training. A dog will not be able to run above its maximum speed. 2) Explosiveness The more powerful the dog, the faster it can explode out of the box. Each dog comes with a minimum power base and maximum potential power, which can only be achieved through training. 3) Fighting Spirit Some dogs like competition and racing more than others. Some have more of the Fighting Spirit: the taste of the game, the desire to catch the lure before the others, the will be the fastest and catch up with the dog in front, the ability to reach deep into its reserves. This characteristic is also a drive to work and can be improved over time. 4) Preferred distance As for the type of ground, the dog is born with a natural preference (more or less pronounced) for short, long or intermediate distances. Some greyhound "sprinters" perform best over shorter distances. For the "sprinters", the longer the distance, the less comfortable they will be. Other dogs are more suited for endurance and they excel over long distances, while there are dogs that are more versatile without no propensity for short nor long distances. 5) Affinity to a type of ground The going (of the racetrack) can be firm, good, yielding, soft, or heavy. This setting is entirely genetic, it is innate, training has no impact on this natural preference for a particular type of ground. The ground, meanwhile, depends on weather conditions. The going is known with certainty, just one hour before the race, according to the following: sunny weather = firm ground, sunny spell = good cloudy = yielding, rainy = soft, stormy = heavy To know the going at the time of the race, the kennel owner can use a "Weather Forecast" link. Weather forecasts provide only any indication of the conditions. The Forecast becomes more accurate, the closer we get to the start of the race. 6) Trap preference Each dog has a preference with respect to the corridor and its position relative to rail. Some greyhounds prefer the rope near the rail (trap number 1), while other dogs prefer feel totally outside (trap number 6), while others prefer the center of the track. This affinity is natural and can not be changed during training. 7) Fitness Fitness is one of the multiple factors that impact on a dog race. While the impact of it is real, it is in fact affecting in rather small proportion. The Fitness Index is a mathematical equation where chance does not occur (no random at all). It is based on genetic factors, combined with training and racing activity.

4-2 Why don’t the greyhounds change lanes during the race ?

There is currently no change of lanes indeed. Greyhounds and Whippets race in their respective lanes from the start till the end when they cross the finish line. We are well aware that this aspect does not necessarily reflect the reality in terms of simulation, but in the interests of simplicity and so that the player has the possibility to better analyse his race, we do not plan to make any change on this issue in the near/mid term.

	Grade Races and Hall of Fame

5-1 How does grade race and Hall of Fame work?

All races created by Dogracer, other than Golden Races, are governed by grading rules. These races are called Grade Race. Number of grades: - There are nine grades (or categories) in which dogs compete. - All grades in descending order of level: I, II, Listed, A, B, C, D, E, and F. Race type: - Graded races are races without Handicap. Rules: - Back grading and promotions in grade result from dog's Graded Race results. Race Nomination: - A dog who has never participated in a grade race begins in a Novice race. The dog winning a Novice race is upgraded to grade B, the dog finishing its Novice race in last position is downgraded in grade D. The other dogs (2dn, 3rd, 4th and 5th position) are graded Grade C. - For all grade races, a dog may take part in races in its grade as well as those of the category just above hers, except dogs and Group II group I, which may only attend courses in their respective grades. - For any grade race that is open to betting, commitment list will prevail. The general principle of commitment list is to make a selection when the number of nomination exceeds the maximum number of starters allowed (6). With each new listing, the dogs are arranged in descending order of membership grades: most of the category of the dog is high (within the limits of the category Max), this dog has a chance of being selected for the race. Dogs in the same category are then ranked in the order of their respective registration. The classification is done in real time with each registration or unsubscribe. This ranking is visible in the plug race. The dogs qualified for the race are placed on top of the list, subject to the maximum number of starters. The dogs beyond the limit of the number of starters were placed in waiting list. These dogs "downgraded" may come from the list of qualified in the event a sufficient number of cancellations of registration of dogs that they are better placed on the list. Hall of Fame prize : By winning a Group I race, dogs have access to what is called the Hall of Fame. There is one HoF for Whippets (free competition) and another one for Greyhounds (stakes competition). Each new dog who reach the HoF gives a prize to its kennel. Accession to the Hall of Fame on a particular distance also imposes to be part of Group I at the time of the victory in Group I race. How Bonuses Hall of Fame is it calculated? - Each time a new greyhound is created by a player (price for the creation = 300 DOGZ), 80 DOGZ will directly feed the Greyhound HoF prizepool of the current month and 10 DOGZ will directly feed the Whippet HoF prizepool of the current month. Both prizepool are then divided into 4 equal parts for each distance (HoF 256m, HoF 460m, HoF 660m, HoF 872m). When no dogs manage to reach the Hall of Fame on a distance, the prize pool is distributed to the lower grade (Group I, then Group II if none has reached the Groupe I, Listed if none has reached the group II etc...). So there is always at lease one winner. Promotions in Grade and back grading: - Whatever its grade, a greyhound can be nominated in races of its grade and in races of the next level just above its grade. Grade C and Novice Race (starting level): Access to Grade C: - All Novice greyhounds who do not finish last in their first race category. The dog that wins the race as Novice Race goes directly to him in Grade B. - All greyhounds Grade D having won a race in Grade D or C. - All greyhounds Grade D was placed 3 times in a race gains of Grade D or C. Back grading to Grade C: A Graded B greyhound will be back graded to C when it finishes out of the first three on two consecutive Graded Races. - Entry fee to a Grade C race: 60 DOGZ Grade D: Access to the Grade D: - All greyhounds Grade E having won a race in Grade E or D. - All greyhounds Grade E was placed 3 times in a race gains of Grade E or D. A Novice greyhound will be back graded to D when it finishes six on its Novice Race. - Entry fee to a Grade F race: 50 DOGZ Group E : Access to the grade E: - All greyhound grade F having won a race in Grade F or E. - All greyhound Grade F was placed 3 times in a race gains of Grade D or E. Back grading to Grade E: - A Graded D greyhound will be back graded to E when it finishes out of the first three on two consecutive Graded Races. - Entry fee to a Grade E race: 40 DOGZ Grade F: Back grading to Grade F: - All greyhounds Grade E having been unplaced in winnings 2 times consecutively in the race for Grade E - Entry fee to a Grade F race: 30 DOGZ Grade B: Access to Grade B: - All greyhounds Grade C having won a race in Grade C, B or Novice Race. - Greyhounds of all Grade C has been placed 3 times in a race gains of Grade C or B. Back grading to Grade B - A Graded A greyhound will be back graded to B when it finishes out of the first three on two consecutive Graded Races. - Entry fee to a Grade B race: 80 DOGZ Group A: Access to Grade A: - All greyhounds Grade B having won a race in Grade B and Grade A. - All greyhound Grade B having been placed 3 times in the earnings of Grade B. Back grading to Grade A: - A Graded Listed greyhound will be back graded to A when it finishes out of the first three on two consecutive Graded Races. - Entry fee to a Grade A race: 100 DOGZ Grade Listed: Access to the Grade Listed: - All greyhounds who win Grade A race in Grade A or Grade Listed. - All the greyhounds of Grade A was placed 3 times the earnings of a race or a Grade Listed. Descend Grade Listed: - A Graded II greyhound will be back graded to Listed when it finishes out of the first three on two consecutive Graded Races. - Entry fee to a Listed race: 120 DOGZ Grade II: Access to the Grade II - All greyhounds Category Listed earning a race Listed Group II or Group. - All Category Listed greyhounds being placed 5 times in the earnings of a Grade Listed race or Grade II. Back grading to Grade II: - A Graded I greyhound will be back graded to II when it finishes out of the first three on three consecutive Graded Races. - Entry fee to a Grade II race: 150 DOGZ Grade I: Access to the Grade I: - All Grade II dogs that win a Grade II or Grade I race. - All Grade II dogs that place 5 times (2nd of third position) in a Grade II or Group I race. - Entry fee to a Grade I race: 150 DOGZ When a Grade I dog wins a Grade I race on a specific distance for its first time in life career, it then reaches the Hall of Fame.

5-2 What is the Hall of Fame?

Hall of Fame prize: By winning a Group I race, dogs have access to what is called the Hall of Fame. There is one HoF for Whippets (free competition) and another one for Greyhounds (stakes competition). Each new dog who reach the HoF gives a prize to its kennel. 5-4 I have a Flat greyhound in category A. What am I supposed to do in order to get part of the monthly bonus cash prize?

A Whippet dog or Greyhound dog joins the prestigious Hall of Fame if the following two conditions are met: the dog wins a Group I race the dog is already part of Group I when he wins this group I race (a Group II dog does not reach the Hall of Fame even if the dog wins a Group I race). The kennel owner of the dog is then credited with a bonus prize on month-end. The amounts of the Hall of Fame jackpots can be found permanently on the HOF section. The HOF prize pool (or "jackpot") is divided in proportion to the number of dogs who reach the Hall of Fame during the month, for each of four distances. A same dog can combine the distances and therefore shares of the Jackpot.

5-5 How many times in its career a greyhound can reach the Hall of Fame?

The Hall of Fame (HoF) works by distance. In its career, a greyhound can access 4 different Hall of Fame: 256m Hof, 460m HoF, 660m HoF, 872m HoF. For a same distance, a dog can reach the HoF only once in its career.

5-6 Where can I find the actual amounts for monthly prize pools?

Click on the grade of a Category race (in the race nomination pages, or in a race card). A new page is opening up where you see the number of dogs per grade but also the amount of the HOF jackpot in real time. Be careful, this amount keeps increasing over time by 5 DOGZ for the Whippets HOF and by 85 DOGZ for the Greyhounds HOF each time a new greyhound dog is created. In the same pop-up, you can also view in real time the greyhounds who have reached the Hall of Fame during the month.

5-7 If a greyhound reaches the Hall of Fame for the current month and is sold before the end of this month, which owner will get the Hall of Fame prizemoney related to this dog? The new onwer or the former one?

Only the owner upon the transition into Class I is eligible to the monthly bonus cash prize.

5-8 Can a Kennel Owner obtain a prize several times for the same month?

Yes, a kennel owner may receive multiple Hall of Fame bonuses during the same month. There is no limitation.

5-9 When a greyhound joins the Hall of Fame during the month and its owner gets his Hall of Fame bonus, does the breeder of the same greyhound also get a percentage of this bonus ?

Yes, the breeder receives its normal return, ie 12% bonus Hall of Fame received by the Owner.

5-10 If I nominate a Class A greyhound to a Listed Race and win the race with this greyhound, in which categoy will my greyhound climb?

If your greyhound wins the race category just over his own, he climbs up a class over his category. He has therefore risen from Category A to Category Listed.

	Golden Races

6-1 What does a Golden Race consist of ?

The Gold Race is the flagship race in the online world of Dogracer. These races are for the Greyhounds breed only. Except for the final of the Royal Cup (THE big monthly race on DogRacer.com), the Gold Races are the races where the most DOGZ are to be won. The entry conditions are however more restrictive. A win in the Gold Race goes into a player's list of victories. The Gold Races also refer to the only races on which players can bet DOGZ (the game’s online currency).

6-2 What are the selection criteria to participate in a Golden Race?

The selection for « Golden Races” is based on the net winnings accumulated and the principal of “the commitment list”. As the “Golden Races” have higher winnings and a limited number of entrants, the demand for these races is high. The objective of the list is to not close the inscriptions as soon as the limit of 6 entries is reached, but to accept all of the pre-inscriptions in the first instance and then to select the greyhounds that have accumulated the highest net winnings. All greyhounds are ranked in descending order of their respective net winnings. The classification is done in real time for every entry or unsubscribe. This ranking is visible in the card race. - The Greyhounds qualified for the race are those placed at the top of the list, within the maximum number of starters. - The greyhound classified beyond the limit of 6 starters are placed on a waiting list. These greyhounds "downgraded" can enter a list of qualified case of a sufficient number of registration cancellations greyhound better placed than them on the list.

6-3 How to nominate a greyhound to a Golden Race?

Nomination to Gold Races starts at 8:30 pm CET (Central European Time) 2 days before the Meeting. Registration closes at 5:00 pm CET on the eve of the Meeting. Additional specificity to these Gold Races: the drive strategy must be entered before this registration close, so before 5:00 pm CET on the eve of the Meeting.

	Claiming Races

7-1 What is a claiming race ?

The Claiming Race is based on the principle that the registered owner irrevocably consents to a predetermined sale price for his dog: ie the asking price. This claiming price is the same for all dogs involved in the race. The sale takes place by way of secret bidding, for a 10 minute period, just after the end of the race. Obviously, only the first 2 or 3 finishers or so risk being claimed. Example: If you register your dogs in a «Claiming Race for 100 DOGZ », this means that your dog will publicly be put on sale for 100 DOGZ, for 10 minutes shortly after the end of the race. You will lose ownership if another player buys at this price (unless you yourself counter bid, see the point “protect his dog” below). You will of course remain the owner if nobody bids by the end of the sale. Sales condition for a claiming race: consists of secret bidding, with the price corresponding to the asking price. The highest bidder becomes the new owner. The dog’s owner can « protect his dog » : he places the highest bid for his dog. He is then only charged for the difference between the claiming price and the price he bid. In the event of a sale, the owner receives 100% of the asking price and gives a 10% commission to DogRacer (as in classic dog sales). The difference between the final claimed price and the initial claiming/asking price is kept by DogRacer. The selling sessions for claiming races are made public and are accessible to all players, without exception. It is not necessary to be involved in the race in order to claim a dog.

7-2 How to claim a dog? What are the rules to place a bid?

To claim a dog, a player has 10 minutes to place his bid (whose minimum amount is the claiming price). During this 10 minutes period that occur just after the race, only the number of bids is public, the bidded price are kept confidential. After the submission period of 10 minutes, only the best bid is chosen. The new and former owner is notified by private mailbox when the transaction takes place. Other candidates who submitted a bid not selected, are notified by for the outcome of their bid.

7-3 Where can I place a bid during the auction period ?

On the greyhounds to claim's page, in the penultimate column, click on the link "Buy". Then appears a window where you can place your bid. At the end of the auction period which that lasts 10 minutes from the arrival of the race, you receive a message that tells you the outcome, whether you are the new owner or if you lost the auction.

7-4 Is the owner of claiming dog authorized to bid for his own dog ?

Yes, that is possible: the owner can put in his own bid too to defend his dog and try to keep it. If he places the best bid and wins the silent auction, the owner is debited with the difference between his bid and the claiming price. .

7-5 Can anybody claim a dog or is it a private auction that is reserved to the owners involved into the race?

No, any player, whether involved or not in the race, may try to buy a greyhound that is for claim. To do this, simply click on the alert that appears in the upper right when there are dogs to be claimed. To find the claiming sales calendar, two ways of doing this: - "RACES" >> "RACE PROGRAM >>> Race Type = Claiming Race, and Status = Pending" - Either by accessing this page here .

7-6 When I place a bid on a greyhound dog, what happens to my debited amount in case I am not the winner of the auction? Do I get it back?

Of course! The amount debited on your accound when you placed your bid is refunded if you are not the final buyer.

7-7 Where does money go after a claiming transaction?

The kennel owner of a claimed greyhound is credited with the nominal claiming price (the claiming race price). The possible difference between the final purchase price (best bid when the auction period expires) and the claimng race price is kept by Dogracer as a commission.

7-8 What is the rule in case of several identical bids?

When there is more than one highest offer, it is the first offer made which is accepted.

7-9 How many bids can I place by Greyhound as a potential buyer?

You can submit/place only one bid per greyhound. Once submitted, it's too late, you can not change it. However, nothing prevents you from attempting during the aucion period to purchase several dogs of the same claiming race.

7-10 Who can propose claimers to other players?

Only a Dogracer player can create a Claimer (claiming race) and challenge the other players.

7-11 Can a racetrack manager cancel a race?

A race can not be cancelled. The nominated dog is getting free after the race is run or upon expiry of the registration process in case less than 6 greyhound dogs are nominated to the claiming race.

7-12 Is there any time frame to set a race fixture?

You cannot set the race time later than in the next 48 hours.

7-13 What is the risk involved if I create a public race?

Apart the race entry fee (that you lose if you finish in the last 3 of the race), you may not risk any loss by organizing as such a claiming race. The only obligation of a player who creates a claiming race is to nominate in it one of his greyhounds. The nominated greyhound remains blocked until the start of the race, or until the cancellation of it in case less than 6 dogs are nominated upon the end of the registration process. The creator of the race can not cancel the race. The only constraint is that your dog is locked up 36 hours for nothing if the race does not fill. If the race starts, you earn a sucess fee equal to 5% of the sum of entry fees. Beyond 36 hours, if the race did not collect six entries, it is canceled and disappears from from the racing calendar.

	Royal Cup

8-1 What is the Royal Cup?

The Royal Cup (for greyhounds only) is the flagship competition of the game. A cup of direct elimination where only the first 5 finalists share the jackpot. It takes place every month. Race distance is drawn by chance for each race whatever the round: it is therefore the greyhounds that are "allrounders" that manage to qualify for the final and set the pace.

8-2 How is the Royal Cup prize pool calculated?

Royal Cup entry fee is 50 DOGZ per greyhound. The sum of entry fees is transferred into the Royal Cup prizepool. Added to this are 40 DOGZ for each greyhound created between the registration closing day of the previous month and the regsitration closing day of the current Royal Cup. The Royal Cup prizepool is paid out in full to the owners of the 5 first greyhound finalists: 35% for the winner, 24% for second place, 16% for 3rd, 12% for 4th, 8% for 5th.

8-3 May dog nominations be made at any time?

The deadline to nominate a dog to the Royal Cup is on the 10th of each month, at midnight. The entry fee is 50 DOGZ.

	Kennel Owner

9-1 ********

There are 2 ways of purchasing an online greyhound in DogRacer.com: 1) Buy a dog from another player in the category SALES RING : LIVE AUCTION (public bidding system where the highest bid wins) or FIXED PRICE SALES (negotiable prices directly between buyer and seller). 2) Breed using an existing dog and bitch (heading BREEDING) 1) Create a new racing dog ( category KENNEL > BUY A DOG). The stud price of this is 500 DOGZ.Of this amount keeps only 200 DOGZ to cover the running costs of the site. The remaining 300 DOGZ are re-injected into the site for the benefit of the players: 150 DOGZ are put into the Hall of Fame prize pool, 100 DOGZ are put into the “Gold Race” prize pool and 50 DOGZ are given to the Royal Cup.

9-2 How to nominate a greyhound to a race ?

There are two ways to enlist a greyhound for a race: 1 – Category "KENNEL" >> "MY GREYHOUNDS". > Last column : "next race", click on the pictogram "+". >> A new window opens, that tells you which races your dog is eligible for (qualified). 2 - Category "RACE" >> "PROGRAMME" >> last column "register" : click on the pictogram represented by "+". >>> This shows you all of the dogs in your kennel that meet the qualification criteria of the selected race.

9-3 When are race winnings paid?

Immediately right after the race.

9-4 The greyhound I bought wan the race! Why don't I get winnings?

Winnings are paid to the player who owns the greyhound at the moment it is entered in the race.

9-5 How can I watch my greyhound racing?

To watch your greyhound racing: :

9-6 I am not connected to the website often enough to have the pleasure of watching my greyhound race live.

For suspense enthusiasts, DogRacer has developed the tools that allow you to see your greyhound in action (just as in live conditions), without knowing the results beforehand: Category MY ACCOUNT > PREFERENCES. >> Possibility to tick the last two offers: - Hide my balance by default - Hide my results on the page « My Performances » All you have to do when you connect to the site is first of all go to the page KENNEL >> MY PERFORMANCES. You can purchase a greyhound through three different ways: 1) Live auction (SALES RING > LIVE AUCTION) 2) Direct purchase from another greyhound owner (SALES RING > FIXED PRICES) 3) Claiming dogs: the idea behind Claiming Races is that the owner taking part agrees irrevocably to put his dog up for sale at a fixed, pre-determined, price (the same price for all the dogs taking part in the race) during the 10 minutes following the race. "Claiming race for 200 DOGZ” means that your dog will be put up for sale for 200 DOGZ at the end of the race and that there will be no way for you to change your mind if someone decides to purchase it from you. You will, however, naturally remain the owner if there is no buyer.

	Dog training

10-1 What does training consist in ?

In order to make progress, the greyhound has to be put in a Training Centre by its owner, which is payable daily. A greyhound, which has not been put in a Training Centre will stay in its owners’ kennel, but will not make any progress. If a dog is placed in a Training Centre, but the account does not contain sufficient funds in DOGZ, training will not take place. The characteristics worked on during training, with varying degrees of success, depending on the centre are : - explosiveness (or ability to leave the box quickly), speed, fighting spirit (ability to comeback when an opponent is ahead) and endurance. Each Centre also has its own nutritional standards, which also have an impact on the dog's fitness. The daily price varies according to the Centre. There is of course a correlation between the quality of the Training Centre and the daily rates (the more reputable the Centre the more likely it is to be expensive). Nevertheless there can be disparities in these correlations and it is up to Owners to discover the Training Centres that provide the best quality to price ratio. Each Centre has a certain capacity and a limit to the number of dogs admitted. Finally, for the owners of virtual racing dogs, the training strategy is synonymous with management, research and anticipation: - making decisions as to which Training Centre to use consists of improving your kennels, whilst taking into account the overall costs this incurs (the “financial constraints”). The key to success is to optimize the quality of training, keeping in mind your budget on one hand and winnings on the other. - It can be useful to foresee which qualities are present in a dog close to its best, the qualities that your dogs already have and those that have the potential to be improved. It is therefore up to the Owner to find the most appropriate Centre possible. - To sum up, you should evaluate the potential of your greyhound according to its first races, its genetic origins, and by being able to anticipate the future results. What are the potential future winnings if the dog is trained well? On the other hand, it may be better to halt a dog's career and not train it, if you envisage a limited chance of success in the races.

10-2 Does a Training Center with 4 star level of explosiveness improve dog's explosiveness two times faster than a Training Center with only 2 star level of explosiveness?

The performance in terms of training is indeed proportional to the number of stars, but beware, each dog has its own capacity for improvement in every single physical ability.

10-3 How to move out a dog from a Training Center, in order to have not trained anywhere?

From your kennel page, click on the link "move" in the column "Training Center" (third column of the page). A pop-up window opens, with a list of all Training Centers, including the Training Center of your dog. At the center row where your dog is affected, click in the last column on the picto .

11-1 How long does an auction run for?

11-2 Can I sell several greyhounds at a time?

Yes, you can create lots of several greyhounds. It is recommended to sellers to create homogeneous lots in terms of age. The lots are therefore easier to identify in the auction market, as a homogeneous lot is taken into account in the sort and search modules.

11-3 How long does an auction run for?

The initial period is 24 hours, with automatic extension of an additional hour for each new bid which occurs in the last hour, and so on, until no one else bid (then the sale is confirmed).

11-4 When does an auction start?

An auction starts immediately when the seller validates the parameters of its sale. The seller cannot delay the sale.

11-5 Who sets the starting price of an auction?

The auction’s opening price cannot be set by the seller. The price is set by DogRacer. It is 1 DOGZ whatever the auction.

11-6 What is a Reserve Price?

A reserve price is the lowest price at which you are willing to sell your dog(s). If you don’t want to sell it/them below a certain price, you can a set a reserve price. The amount of your reserve price is not disclosed to potential buyers and bidders.

11-7 As part of an auction with reserve price, will I get my deposit after the sale of my lot?

This deposit is refunded if you manage to sell your lot.

11-8 Why the principle of deposit for a sale reserve price?

If the reserve price was a free service, the owners would be able to inundate the bidding hall with crazy offers without taking any risk. This would result in an increase in the number of offers and therefore an overload in the bidding halls. The bidding halls would quickly become of no interest for the buyers (what is the point of a buyer placing offers if the seller sets a completely utopian reserve price?), and gradually nothing more would sell. In order for the bidding system to function, there must be a certain fluidity in sales, the buyers should be able to find a limited supply, well adapted in terms of price, where there is the necessity of taking a “financial risk”, then the seller can resort to the protection of the reserve price.

11-9 Is a new bid auction immediately debited? Is it later immediately credited when another buyer place a higher bid?

When an owner bids on a lot, the bid amount is immediately debited from his account. If somebody else places a better bid, the previously debited bid amount is then credited on the account.

11-10 Why pay more than the next step in the bidding ? Why use this function of automatic counter bidding ?

The Automatic Bidding Function allows you to pre-register the maximum price you are willing to go to acquire the aution lot.

11-11 How can we know whether there is a reserved price or not?

In the bidding hall, you can see whether or not the bid is subject to a reserve price (first board at the top left hand side in the pop up window titled “bidding hall”).

11-12 Do I pay a commission on the sale of my dog or my lot of greyhounds when I sell through the auction system?

Yes, a commission of 10% of the amount of the sale is taken as a sale of greyhounds at a fixed price.

11-13 What happens if I finish as highest bidder in an auction where the reserve price has not been reached ?

If the reserve price is not reached, the sale does not occur.

11-14 Can I retract or cancel my bid?

It is not possible for you to cancel a bid you've placed before the end of an auction.

12-1 Is DogRacer betting based on a fixed-odds system or a totalisator (pool betting) ?

My Greyhound betting system is based on the principles of pari-mutuel: players compete against each other. The DOGZ bet for each bet type ((SW = Single Win, F = Forecast, Tr = Trifecta) are redistributed to the winners in proportion to their stake, and this separately for each type of bet. DogRacer's commission is a 10% share of all DOGZ that are wagered.

12-2 Why is a bet beeing recredited?

DogRacer betting service is based on pool betting system (pari-mutuel betting). The players bet against each others, not against DogRacer.

12-3 Can I cancel a bet?

It is not possible to cancel any bet once it has been validated.

14-1 How to fund your account through Moneybookers?

Moneybookers is the solution recommended by DogRacer to credit your account and withdraw your winnings.
